After appreciating the majestic pyramids, if time permits, we will stay in a local hotel in Cairo in the evening.

Itinerary:

Cairo → Red Pyramid, Bent Pyramid, Step Pyramid, and Great Pyramid of Giza → Sphinx

Red Pyramid Red Pyramid

The Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid are both built by King Sneferu, the father of King Khufu (who built the largest Pyramid of Khufu in Giza). Compared with the famous three pyramids of Giza, the Red Pyramid is smaller in scale and has a much gentler slope, because it is a product before the maturity of pyramid construction technology. At that time, the Egyptians were still not sure what tilt angle to use to build the pyramid tall and steep without suddenly collapsing. Because it uses reddish sandstone, it is called the "Red Pyramid."

Sphinx sphinx

The Sphinx, or Sphinx, is a statue sitting next to the Pyramid of Khafre, with the body of a lion and the head of a human. The Sphinx is approximately 73.5 meters long, 19.3 meters wide and 20.22 meters high. The Sphinx is a very ancient monumental statue known today and is generally believed to have been built during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre (approximately 2558 BC to 2532 BC). Since the age, appearance, and even the builder of the Sphinx are full of controversy, these issues are known as the "mystery of the Sphinx", but they are still slightly different from the Mystery of the Sphinx in Greek mythology. The nose and beard of the Sphinx have fallen off. There is a theory that it was caused by Napoleon's bombardment, but the authenticity needs to be verified.

The Egyptian Museum was designed and built in 1863 in Bra, north of Cairo, by the famous French archaeologist Mariette, known as the "Father of the Egyptian Museum". The Egyptian Museum, located on the east bank of the Nile River in Cairo's Tahrir Square near the Nile Hilton Hotel, is one of the world's most famous museums. Officially opened to the public in 1902, it houses many historical relics from the time of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs to the 6th century AD.

Citadel of Saladin

Saladin Citadel is located on the eastern outskirts of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. It was built in the 12th century AD and is one of the most famous monuments in Cairo. There is a green grassland in front of the castle, and the city wall is 2 meters wide. The castle is divided into an inner city and an outer city. There are palaces and temples in the city. The top tower of the Ali Mosque towers like a sharp sword into the clouds. The huge dome shines in the sun. The entire castle is as magnificent as a palace. It is also the best place to enjoy the city view of Cairo.

Many tourists come to visit and pay homage to the heroes who resisted the Crusaders.

Khan El-Khalili

Khalili Market is the most famous open-air market in Cairo and even Egypt. It has been in business since the 14th century.

Feeling the enthusiastic vendors and noisy bargaining, the smell of spices and the dazzling array of gadgets in the Arabian-style market will make you forget to leave. Entering the market from the entrance of Al-Azhar Road, both sides of the road are lined with historic Arab buildings, and you can even see the old city walls and gates.

You can purchase some souvenirs of your choice here before leaving Egypt. Even if you don’t buy anything, this is a good place to experience the local customs and take photos. The arc-shaped arch bridge-type dam is 111 meters high. The high dam goes out of Pinghu Lake. The dam uses 17 times more stone than the Pyramid of Khufu. It is 180 meters wide at the bottom, 40 meters wide at the top, and 3830 meters long. Lake Nasser, one of the seven largest artificial lakes in the world, has now been formed. (You can pass it along the way) Walking on the dam, the dam is like a wide road paved on a large lake. Surrounded by the boundless wilderness, you can feel the cool breeze bringing the rare moist air in the Egyptian desert.

【Obelisk】obelisk

The obelisk is one of the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. It is a monument to the worship of the sun in ancient Egypt. It is also the most distinctive symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization besides the pyramids. The shape of the obelisk is in the shape of a pointed square column, which gradually shrinks from bottom to top. The top is shaped like a pyramid tip. The obelisk is often wrapped in gold, copper or gold and silver alloy. When the rising sun shines on the tip of the obelisk, it shines like the dazzling sun. The stele varies in height, generally the slenderness ratio is 9~10:1, and is made of a single piece of granite. The body of the stele is engraved with incised patterns of hieroglyphs. The Temple of Kumembu is dedicated to the twin gods Sobek and Horus-the-Elder. It has two entrances: the multi-column hall and the temple. The symmetrical layout of the temple suggests some mysterious connection between the two gods. The temple was built on a rock formation in a bend of the Nile River, where crocodiles gathered in ancient times. The temple attests to the respect that ancient Egyptian priests had for the natural laws of the Nile and its crocodiles. Enter the temple to see crocodile mummies, earthen coffins and spectacular wall reliefs.

[Temple of Edfu]Temple of Horus

The Temple of Edfu was built under Ptolemy III in 237 BC. It is dedicated to the eagle god Horus, also known as the Temple of Horus. 5150 years ago, northern and southern Egypt were unified, and dynasties continued and changed for three thousand years. Cleopatra of the Ptolemaic Dynasty was the last generation of Egyptian pharaohs. After that, the temple was abandoned, and the abandoned Edfu Temple remained for more than a thousand years. , was gradually buried by the yellow sand. It was not until the arrival of Napoleon's expedition in 1798 that the top of the temple tower was discovered. The Edfu Temple was well preserved due to being buried under the sand for many years. “If you haven’t been to Luxor, you haven’t been to Egypt.”

After arriving in Luxor, visit the burial sites of many pharaohs【帝王谷】and built for the female pharaoh of ancient Egypt【Temple of Queen Hatpsut】are located in this area. In the wilderness between the west bank of the Nile and the Valley of the Kings, there are two "singing" buildings.【Colossus of Meng Nong】, and then visit【Karnak Temple】and【Luxor Temple】

Itinerary:

Valley of the Kings → Temple of the Queen → Luxor Temple → Karnak Temple

【Egyptian Valley of the Kings】valley of the kings

The Valley of the Kings is the main tomb area for pharaohs and nobles from the 18th to 20th dynasties of the New Dynasty of ancient Egypt (approximately from 1539 BC to 1075 BC). 62 mausoleums have now been developed. Located on the west bank of the Nile, 7 kilometers from the shore, it can be reached from the steep mountain ring road at the northern end of the Acropolis of Thebes.

【Temple of Queen Hatshepsut】Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

The temple is located in the north of the Valley of the Kings and is built against the mountain. The three-story design of this temple is open and concise, and has a modern architectural style. Its builder, Queen Hatshepsut, was the first queen of ancient Egypt and a Wu Zetian-like existence. She was the legitimate daughter of the Pharaoh and married her younger brother. After her husband's death, she took the throne from her husband's concubine and established herself as king. After her death, her concubine returned to the ceremony, dug up her coffin, destroyed her palace, and eliminated all information about the queen. Hatshepsut, or Hatshepsut, Heqise or Hatshepsut, means "highly respected" in ancient Egyptian. She was the pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty (reigned from about 1479 BC to about 1458 BC) and a well-known female pharaoh in ancient Egypt. Her temple is located in the Deir el-Bahari mausoleum complex on the west bank of the Nile. It is embedded in the center of a mountain wall and is very spectacular.

【Colossus of Menon】Manolis colossus

The giant elephant is 20 meters tall. It has been severely weathered and its face is unrecognizable. The seated statue was built by Amenhotep III at the height of the New Kingdom. Behind the seated statue was originally his burial temple, but later pharaohs demolished this building and used it as stone for his own buildings. By the time of the Ptolemaic dynasty, the building had been completely destroyed. People thought that the stone statue was a statue of Memnon in Greek mythology, so they named the stone statue Memnon. Earthquakes during Roman rule caused cracks in the statue. Whenever the wind blows, the Memnon statue seems to be singing, which is very magical. Later, after the statue of Memnon was repaired, it never sang again.

【Temple of Karnak】Temple of Karnak

The Karnak Temple, built more than 3,900 years ago, is located in the north of the Egyptian city of Luxor. It is a spectacular temple left over from the ancient Egyptian empire. There are more than 20 large and small temples, 134 giant stone pillars, a lion statue of a ram and other ancient monuments in the temple. It is magnificent and shocking.

【Luxor Temple】Luxor Temple

Luxor Temple, a city in south-central Egypt, is located on the Nile River in Upper Egypt, more than 670 kilometers south of Cairo, on the ruins of the southern half of Thebes, the capital of the Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. The most eye-catching monuments in Luxor are the Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the east bank of the Nile. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come from all over the world every year.
